Before the sun rises,

I awake and life surprises-

Me with a morning of faith and freedom,

Knowing that each mistake, faith will redeem them.

Time to myself in meditation,

Praying, running and weights with coordination.

Learning and journaling to go deeper today

And each day. Writing poetry before the ray

Of sunlight ushers in a new day with a sunrise.

From solitude to communion, I watch my spirit rise.

Seeing in the dark with vision,

Moving ahead, knowing I already have my own permission.
