My name is Sarah and I am thirty-five years old. I have one published book of my poetry titled, "In Between the Lines." It is available on Amazon here.

I hope to publish another one of more of my recent work as well. I am also working on a children's book too, but I've put that on hiatus for awhile to focus on other areas of my life now. I was instantly hooked with poetry and creative writing back in high school and knew that this was something that I wanted to do with my life. To become a writer. I found that the more I wrote, the better I got and has also helped me to realize my lifelong dream. To help people. I love playing around with words and seeing what poem I can mold into next.

What does poetry mean to you?

To me, poetry is all about healing. It's been a great coping tool for me ever since I started writing poetry back in my freshman year of high school. I write to not only heal myself, but I also hope that I can help others heal too. I also hope that I can help people find joy and light up their darkness as well.

What inspires my poetry?

A lot of things inspire my poetry. The world around me. My life experiences. The changing of the seasons. The holidays. Special occasions. Birthdays, weddings and family. Plus reading other poetry has sparked some new ideas as well.

Which are most important to you: (1) joy, (2) peace, (3) patience, (4) kindness, (5) self-control, (6) faithfulness, (7) gentleness, (8) love, or (9) goodness? If you can, explain why.

I would say that KINDNESS is the most important to me because if this world didn't have kindness, then how can we find joy, peace, gentleness or any of the other words listed in this world? By practicing kindness, you are showing love and we need that today more than ever. We need to spread love, not hate.

What sort of things are you looking forward to improving this year?

Self improvement. I have been struggling with self-love lately and my therapist has been helping me with this. I now realize that you have to love yourself before you can love others, and I am working really hard at this by writing in a self-love poetry journal that I found on littleinfinite.com. It's a free journal that you can either download or have it sent directly to your email. It's been working really well for me so far.

What is one big dream you have?

My one big dream is to help as many people as I can through my writing. I have been both amazed and humbled by how much people have responded to my poetry already. I've always told people that is my lifelong goal. Helping people. I hope that I can continue to help people by sharing my story on my blog too.

My blog website is here and you can follow me on Twitter here and Instagram here.
