My Name is James Celestin: l’m a 29 years old in Spring Valley, NY. I love writing. It’s a passion and love I have for helping others. I’ve had hardships in my past, but I always try to pay it forward, one step at a time. I hope to inspire others to reach for their dreams.
What does poetry mean to you?
Poetry means everything to me: it helps me express my feelings and thoughts, it gets me to truly appreciate the art, and get better at my craft; it motives me to be better.
What inspires your poetry?
Love, nature, I draw inspiration from those main things. I’m a hopeless romantic, and I love writing about love because it’s the most powerful emotion out there.
Which are most important to you: (1) joy, (2) peace, (3) patience, (4) kindness, (5) self-control, (6) faithfulness, (7) gentleness, (8) love, or (9) goodness? If you can, explain why.
All these things are important, but I view kindness because I believe in being nice to others and paying it forward because you never know when life comes at you. Always be kind; it’s important because it shows you care.
What sort of things are you looking forward to improving this year?
More of my writing, trying to diverse my subject matter, and possibly write stories.
What is one big dream you have?
For my poems to be viewed, and for them to give others hope.
Heavens Gate
I fell down on my knees and yeah I prayed Cause Heaven seems a million miles away I dreamed of all the things that I would say On that day now I struggle with the pain Took a lot of losses I felt like I was out the game but I stand up ride up and conquered cause giving up wasn’t even a option this years been rough and even though I had enough I keep pushing cause the light will shine bright I put my faith in God and he gave the strength to overcome the hate for he that opens the waves so his soul will pass through all the pain that cast his shadows for then to use. Hope springs eternal the vibes are here let’s the good times roll and forget the negative flows we gonna strive we gonna survive God bless us from all the struggles we go through everyday’s a challenge but we pay our dues we grow learn and inspire even when the events look pretty dire but the lord shields us from the evils that surround round when life get hard we turn to God his love and strength is within arms length so within our hearts and mind we can push through life has change it has open our eyes but never forget we are God children
