I began my writing journey at the early age of 9, but I didn't become seriously interested in the profession until the age of 34 when I wrote fan fiction for the Kpop group BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) which has been posted on the website/app Wattpad. In early 2019, I began writing my first historical fiction novel, 'Where The Wallflowers Grow' which has been on hiatus since Nov 2019. Early 2020, I released my inner poet on Twitter, which has been bottled since the age of 19 (when I first wrote poetry regularly as a hobby). After much encouragement and high praises for my work, I have self published two books of poetry with a third on the way this October.

What does poetry mean to you?

Poetry means being able to release your deepest feelings onto the page. To me, that is the most important thing, getting all your feelings out on the table. Even with the fear of letting the world know what you're going through mentally and emotionally. Being relatable and showing the reader that they aren't alone. That we, as the poet/poetess, also have dealt with the same issues and here's how we feel in written word.

What inspires your poetry?

Typically anything. Words themselves can inspire me. 'Dream', 'Daze' 'Love' 'Heartbreak' are usually keywords to spark a poem. Whatever comes to mind, I write it immediately. Which is why I share so many of my poems on Twitter and Instagram.

Which are most important to you: (1) joy, (2) peace, (3) patience, (4) kindness, (5) self-control, (6) faithfulness, (7) gentleness, (8) love, or (9) goodness? If you can, explain why.

Love. Simply because I love to love. If that makes sense. Love in the happy sense and love in the sad sense. As explained in the previous question, 'Love' is one of my keywords when writing poetry. I know what it's like to be in love and to experience the heartache of a love gone wrong. It can be pleasant yet also depressing but it gets me to express myself.

What sort of things are you looking forward to improving this year?

My writing skills. I think I'm an okay writer to a certain extent but in reality, I could be much better. I'm my own worst critic like the majority of us in this profession.

What is one big dream you have?

The biggest dream I have is to be on the New York Times Bestsellers List. I don't care what ranking as long as I make the list. That would be a dream come true. I feel like, so many more doors would open at that point. That would be extraordinary. Absolutely mindblowing to be honest.

Young Forever

I was sleeping

But my heart was awake

I needed to hear your voice

I needed to return to our adolescence

That playground where we met as children

Is still a memory that lingers on

I dream of you often

Our youth

To be young

With you by my side

Hand in hand we ran

No cares

No worries

If only my heart could sleep

To be with you again
