Hi my name is Martin. I'm a new dad living in Northants, UK with my partner and son. I work for an optical company as a merchandiser and I'm a secretary for a charity that visits the housebound. I've been writing poetry for around twenty years and always found it helps me mentally.
What does poetry mean to you?
Poetry is an outlet for me on a personal level. I also love seeing other poet's work, as I know their mind works in a similar way, it just takes them off in a different direction.
What inspires your poetry?
It used to be just relationships, mine and other people's but now I can write about anything. I've recently become a dad for the first time so exploring that subject at the moment.
Which are most important to you: (1) joy, (2) peace, (3) patience, (4) kindness, (5) self-control, (6) faithfulness, (7) gentleness, (8) love, or (9) goodness? If you can, explain why.
I would have to say peace, patience, love and goodness. I'm quite laid back as a person but a rock for my partner when she needs support. I also volunteer for a charity that visits the housebound so these characteristics come into play very often in my life.
What sort of things are you looking forward to improving this year?
I want to improve my knowledge of how to use social media. I've only started posting my poetry in July so I'm still learning!
What is one big dream you have?
To be published, probably same as everyone who writes! I've made some great steps, let's just see where it takes me.
